New Years Eve 2011

New Years Eve was a lot of fun.  A couple old college buddies, Branden Garrett and Chris Cook came down for the UK/U of L game and we met up afterwards for food and beverages.  My good friend Chris Frost came along also and we all had a blast.  Afterwards everyone wanted to see Ava so we drove home and did just that.  Later that night, Keren, Ava and I hung out and celebrated the new year by watching the ball drop.  Ava was so excited she couldn't contain herself.  (just kidding)  She did make a big poop right before the clock hit midnight so maybe that was her way of celebrating.  Was an awesome day all around, one to definitely remember.

Ava really took to Branden.  He has two girls of his own so I could see why.

Garrett taught Ava to walk by the end of the night.  Amazing!

Great pic of Frosty and Ava.

December 30th

Ava took a little road trip today to see my buddy Chris Cook, his wife Angie and her family.  It was the farthest distance she's ever been away from home also.  Ava loves riding in the car (when it's moving) and slept most of the way up.  She got to meet Chris's 1 year old daughter Samantha and many other little kids that were there.  We met at Angie's mom's house and Angie had several of her old high school friends over who had several kids of their own.  Ava was really good for most of the trip and seemed content with the new surroundings and people.

Here are a few pics from the night:

December29th

Ava is still playing with all her Christmas presents and spent a lot of time with mommy today.  She was a little more fussy this evening so Keren gave her a bath to brighten her mood and hopefully get her to sleep afterwards.  It must of worked, I don't hear any crying as I type this.  Here are some bath time pics from tonight:

Ava's first Christmas

Ava had a great first Christmas!  The weather was mild, very sunny in the mid 40's and windy.  Ava woke us up at 8am and we got her ready for grampy (my dad) to come over and help her unwrap her presents that Santa left.  My dad came over at 9:30am and was really excited to see her.  He brought her a HUGE teddy bear for Christmas and a few more presents from other family members.  I took plenty of video while dad and Keren helped Ava open all her toys.  It was a lot of fun and time flew by.  By 12:00 we had to leave for Keren's parents house and we were running late as usual.

It was a great time at Keren's parents house too, they had made a big breakfast which was perfect because we were starving.  We opened presents in the sunroom and hung out for a while.  Ava was really good and didn't fuss much at all.  Around 4pm we went to my sister's house and ate dinner and took it easy.  Her boyfriend AJ is awesome at cooking and had prepared tons of food.  We opened more presents, played Scrabble and watched Elf for the 643rd time this Christmas.  It was a great Christmas and having a new baby to share the holidays with made it extra special.  I can't wait till she's old enough to understand what's going on and participate.  It's such a fun time for kids.  Meme (my mom) got Ava several presents and so did my sister.  She also received many presents from Keren's family as well.  Thank you everyone for all the nice gifts, we really appreciate it.

How about some pictures?  These are from the morning with my dad and later at my sister's house.  Keren's dad took a bunch of pictures, I'll get those from him and add them later.

I have a red/green stocking just like it with (yep) my name on it also.  Still use it every Christmas.

Meme doesn't like her picture taken but hopefully this one is ok.

This is the look Ava gave me after I told her she will have to practice an hour of piano every day till she's 18.
