Mae and Brian visit Ava

Boy what a day was today!  Ava woke up at 8am after a long night's sleep and would only eat 3 ounces.  (she normally is very hungry in the morning and eats 6, even 8 ounces sometimes)  She was in a pretty good mood but simply wouldn't eat much.  She's having trouble napping too, I think.  Most naps are 30-45 minutes and I've tried every trick we know to help her sleep.

Our friends Brian and Mae Johnson stopped by to see Ava around lunch time.  They brought Ava a bunch of clothes that their daughter has outgrown, thanks guys!  Those will definitely come in handy.  They have a beautiful 9 month old daughter named Ariana.  I'll include a pic of her below, she sure is a cutie.  Ava was great and smiled real big for both of them.  Mae played with Ava while Brian showed me some stuff he's doing with currency trading.  (looks like really tricky stuff)  It will be really fun to get our two daughters together sometime this spring/summer.

I think Ava was really missing Mae and Brian because after they left she simply had a very hard time the next 4 hours.  She wouldn't eat and almost cried the entire time unless I held her upright and rocked her.  (my lower back is paying for it right now)  We thought she might be having some reflux/gas problems so I took her to the pediatrician at 5pm and of course she was smiling ear to ear and a little peach for the doctor by then.  She checked out great and he said to just keep and eye on her and maybe take notes when she's fussy or won't eat.  Otherwise, a smiling happy baby is usually a sign she ok overall.

I did notice her giggle for the first time today, which was too funny.  Right before leaving for the pediatrician that Beyonce song "If you like it then you should of put a ring on it" song came on the radio.  Keren used to sing this song to me when I was dragging my feet those last couple years we were dating so I actually knew the words.  I guess Ava thought the combination of my bad singing/dancing was funny because she giggled nonstop several times.  I'll have to download this song now.  :)
