The art of feeding a baby

When god created man he obviously didn't plan on us bottle feeding babies because we could really use an additional hand for this complex task.  I've learned that it's neither easy nor pleasant when a hungry baby is crying and you are tasked with:
A: Warming up the water
B:  Combining 16 different components (discs, gaskets, nipples etc) to construct your "gas free" baby bottle
C:  Making sure the water is neither too cold or hot and filling to precisely 2,4,6 or 8 ounces.  (all of which are a guess and your baby is certain to either reject half of what you make or down it all and you have to go through this entire process again with a new bottle)
D:  Scoop out precious powder with the precision and care of a Columbian drug lord into bottle making sure not to spill any while bouncing hungry, fussy baby.
E:  If your baby has trouble with "gas" then you must add "gas drops" to this concoction with a little eye dropper.  The exact measurement of said gas drops will vary depending on your mood, the weather, S&P 500, cramping in your thumb/index finger etc.  I promise you will feel like a mad scientist during this process.
F:  After all these ingredients are added, shake it up and whala, baby food is served.

Did I mention you must do all of this WITH ONE HAND while holding/bouncing a fussy baby?

I thought there must be a better way so I'm starting to prepare all the bottles the night before.  Water and formula is measured, gas drops added, all I have to do is dump the formula and we're good to go.  You may wonder why not mix the bottles completely and refrigerate them?  Come to find out it takes much more time to warm a bottle than to simply make one from scratch.  (yep, I've timed it both ways.)  :)

30 ounces of baby bliss, ready to go!

Highly recommended if your baby farts.

Baby buffet:  2,4 or 6 ounces on tap.

  2. It really does speed up things when she is fussy. She's doing a little better these days though. Sometimes I can put her in her bouncy seat while I make a bottle and she'll be perfectly content. Is it possible for 4 month old babies to develop patience? :)
