October 28th
Pics posted today are from Ava's first stroller ride we took the past Tuesday. (3 days ago)
Ava is doing really well at night. She wakes up every 2 1/2 to 3 hours on her own to be fed, I do a quick diaper change, Keren breast feeds and then she falls asleep on her own. I didn't have to do the sing/dance/water faucet routine once last night. The daytime was a bit more challenging, she seems cranky a lot. Keren is breast feeding all the time and afterwards she has a difficult time falling asleep. She must love to be held and rocked, otherwise if you set her down she's crying.
Today was rainy and cold when we took Ava for her first trip to Babies R Us. She loves the car and only cried once when we were stopped in traffic. I intentionally pulled off into a side parking lot with bumps and ruts to shake things up when she started to cry, it worked like a charm. A new set of Monroe shocks is a small price to pay for a happy and content baby. Ava was sound asleep in the store and we purchased a bouncy seat, new set of pacifiers and a "Baby on Board" sign for the car. Keren said I was stuck in the 80's when I saw that sign and had to have it. Who knows, if it keeps some maniac from tailgating us then it's paid for itself 1000 times over.
Good news, the new pacifiers worked like a charm! Ava hasn't been taking the old trusty orange pacifier lately but she latched onto the new ones like they were a chocolate/vanilla swirl pudding pop. (another 80's reference) She was much calmer tonight and Keren gave her another bath. (ok, she wasn't calm for that) She smells so good after a bath and we rubbed some lotion on her that is supposed to make her calmer. (crafty marketing ploy at best) It's 11:36pm as I write this, Keren is changing her diaper and she's not crying. Maybe the lotion does work?
