November 4th

Today was shaping up to be a banner day for Ava.  She was hardly fussy at all, ate well and went to sleep quickly.  My mom came over today and visited with Ava for a while.  Ava was excellent for her and mom fed her a bottle of Keren's finest breast milk.  She even fell asleep on my shoulder after I fed her once, it was like she wasn't the same baby.  Ava also became official today, as she received her social security card in the mail.

Tonight was a little more challenging, no matter what I tried I couldn't get her to go to sleep.  Multiple feedings, singing (I even broke out Jingle Bells because I've sung "You are my Sunshine" so many times my vocal chords may reject it next time on principle alone)  Even the patented rocking to the vacuum cleaner didn't work.  At 2:30am I had to pass her off to Keren's boob after 3 hours of trying.  Ah, the joys of parenthood.
